Doclea rissonii
General description:
Rostrum distally divided into two small spines, carapace rounded and globular, anterolateral margin with three spines. First walking leg longer than posterior.
Vernacular name: Red-legged spider crab.
This species displays sexual dimorphism, the claws of the male are larger than those of the female. These spider crabs are scavengers. In life, they walk on the sea bottom using the tips of their legs, not unlike stilt-walkers.
