Platylambrus pransor
Triangular carapace, eyes small and retractable into circular sockets. Rostrum simple. Posterolateral margin of carapace with spines. Chela elologated (especially propodus) and spinulate. Pereiopods 2-5 slender.
Vernacular name: Indian elbow crab.
These unusual looking crabs are mainly scavengers and out of water, they move very slowly and laboriously as they are no longer supported by water. They are relatively placid crabs, relying on their heavy armour to protect themselves.
