Alpheus euphiosyne
General description:
Vernacular name: Banded snapping shrimp. Live specimens with well defined dark bands across the carapace and abdomen. Eyes partial shielded by carapace. First two pairs of pereiopods are chelate. The first pair of pereiopods with one chela larger than the other and both these are distinctly more developed than the second pair.

Distribution:
East coast of Africa, Thailand, Indonesia and north east coast of Australia.
Habitat:
Mangrove and estuarine, found in burrows under logs and roots.
