Ligia exotica
SUMMARY
Ligia exotica is a large (up to 30 mm long), active, littoral woodlouse; dark blue in colour with lighter flecks; with large eyes and very long antennae (shorter in females). The telson has an acute median process and pointed lateral processes. Uropods are biramous, elongate (half or more the length of the animal) and slender.
Vernacular name: Sea Slater or Sea Roach
Ligia moves remarkably quickly. They may be scavengers or feed on vegetable matter.
